Job Description
Are you a passionate and highly motivated Work Health & Safety Advisor, with the ability to influence change across multiple sites? If so, you are exactly who MLG are looking for to join our Work Health and Safety (WHS) Team.
Reporting to the WHS Manager & supporting the internal Operations Team; this is a great opportunity for an experienced WHS Advisor who wants the ability to make a meaningful contribution to the company’s WHS program implementation on multiple sites of varying scales.
Key Aspects of the Role:
Provide support to our Regional Management team regarding Work Health and Safety matters
Manage, review, and seek the continual improvement of the WHS Management System in alignment to legislative requirements and industry best practices
Ability to travel upon request for site related WHS matters
Lead/Facilitate Incident Investigations
Able to prepare report(s) on monthly, and as required basis
Conduct Risk Assessment and Hazard Identification activities
Use Safety Management Software (MYOSH or similar)
Acting as the first point of contact for WHS queries and advice
Liaise with insurers and medical providers regarding Workers Compensation and Return to Work Plans

Perth Based 5/2 Roster (50 hrs per week)

What does the ideal candidate bring to MLG?
Certificate IV or Diploma OHS/WHS
ICAM Investigation Trained
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)
Be experienced in system and program implementation, including behavioural safety
Have 5+ years of experience in WHS within the resources industry
Have experience in Injury Management processes
Knowledge and understanding of the regulatory framework for WHS (state and national)
Communicate with influence (written/verbal) clearly and concisely at all levels
Comfortable having conversations that reiterate the required WHS behaviours
Able to develop and maintain internal and external relationships
