Job Description
MLG is seeking an experienced and proactive Work Health & Safety Advisor to join our WHS team. This is a key role for someone who enjoys working closely with operations, influencing positive safety outcomes, and contributing to meaningful improvements across multiple sites.
Reporting to the WHS Manager and partnering with our Operations teams, you’ll support the delivery and continual improvement of MLG’s WHS systems in a fast-paced resources environment.
Role Details
Full-time | Perth-based
5/2 roster (50 hours per week)
Regular site travel required
Resources exposure: haulage, crushing, mining or civil
Australian-based candidates only
Your Key Responsibilities
Provide trusted WHS advice and support to Regional and Site Leadership
Maintain and improve WHS management systems in line with legislation and best practice
Lead incident investigations, risk assessments and hazard identification
Support injury management, return-to-work programs and insurer liaison
Prepare clear and concise WHS reports
Act as the first point of contact for WHS queries
Use safety management systems such as MYOSH (or similar)
Promote strong safety behaviours and positive safety culture on site
What You’ll Bring
Australian working rights and a current Driver’s Licence
Cert IV or Diploma in WHS/OHS
ICAM investigation training
5+ years’ WHS experience within the resources sector
Experience implementing WHS systems and programs
Solid understanding of WHS legislation (state and national)
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
Comfortable engaging in constructive safety conversations
Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a team environment
Strong Microsoft Office skills
Desirable
Cert IV in Training & Assessment
Behavioural safety experience
A pre-employment medical and D&A screen will be required.
