MLG Oz is holding an assessment centre for motivated drivers across Australia who are interested in joining our future New to Industry - Road Train Operator Trainee Program.

This is your opportunity to be part of a structured training pathway designed to develop the skills, knowledge, and experience required to become a Road Train Operator within the mining industry.

As we expand our workforce, we're assessing interest across different regions to determine future assessment centre locations and program intakes.

Desired Skills and Experience

Assessment Centre

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend a full-day assessment centre.

Date: Wednesday 14th October, 2026

Time: 8:00am - 4:00pm

Location: Perth CBD (Venue TBC).

The Assessment day will include:

  • Information session about MLG and the training program
  • One-on-one interview with our Recruitment Team
  • Group activities
  • Opportunity to learn more about a career with MLG
  • Lunch & Refreshements provided

What We're Looking For

To be considered, you will have:

  • Current Australian MC Class Driver's Licence
  • Minimum 12 months experience operating a truck and trailer combination
  • Interest in FIFO work, including day and night shifts
  • Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance
  • Full Australian working rights
  • Strong commitment to safety
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
